Dear All,
I would like to
thank everyone who attended the OSA Gulf Reunion – Dubai 2025 that took place
on Saturday Feb 22, 2025.
I hope you
enjoyed the event and made lifelong memories with old friends and made worthy
connections with new acquaintances.
This year’s
reunion was quite successful and we had a good turnout of Old Scholars from
across the Gulf region, Lebanon, the UK and Canada at the event.
In attendance
were the Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the OSA Board of Trustees
(BoT), members of the OSA Administrative Committee, the Chairman of the BHS
Board of Governors, the BHS Principal and many Old Scholars.
The presence of
each and every one of you contributed to making the event a successful one.
The agenda for
the Business Meeting was as follows:
I updated the
attendees on the latest OSA news and developments and informed the attendees
that the OSA Administrative Committee Elections were due to take place in the
next few months.
This was followed
by a quick word from H.E. Mr. Tammam Salam '64, Chairman of the OSA BoT, who
reiterated the BoT’s steadfast support for the OSA and BHS.
After that, the
Chairman of the OSA Fundraising Committee Mr. Riad Barraj '70, updated the
attendees on the work of the fundraising department so far, as well as the
committee’s future trips to the US, Canada and the Gulf.
Then, Mr. Antoine
Issa, Chairman of the BHS Board of Governors, gave a speech updating the
attendees on the status of the school and explained that while there was a lot
of work to be done, the school was standing on solid grounds thanks to the
continuous help and support of the OSA.
Principal David
Gray then gave a speech outlining the struggles the school faced during the
most recent war in Lebanon and how the school was one of the first to start
online classes and then quickly get students back to school while other schools
were still not open. He also highlighted a number of achievements by the school
and its students this past year.
Finally, member
of the OSA Dubai Chapter, Old Scholar Mr. Gaby Hanna ‘82, gave a talk about his
days at school and how BHS shaped him into the business leader he is today.
The Business
Meeting was followed by lunch and then a gala dinner later on in the evening at
the Celebrities Restaurant at the One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel, which
brought together more than 90 Old Scholars and friends from different countries
and age groups.
